At its heart is an elite competition, bringing together exceptional retrievers and handlers from across the UK and beyond to compete for an incredible £10,000 first-place prize. From the first challenge on Saturday morning, to Sunday’s Grand Finale, witness the skill, partnership and precision of the sport at its highest level.
Enjoy exceptional food and drink, explore the shopping village, meet leading handlers at advanced, novice and junior masterclasses. In addition, we are delighted to introduce a daily junior handler scurry competition with prizegiving taking place on both the Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Soak up the atmosphere throughout the weekend and join us for our Saturday evening social before the excitement reaches its peak on Sunday.

The inaugural 2027 Trophy is an International Open Working Test for the very best Working Retriever Gundogs and their individual handlers.
Qualification through Royal Kennel Club-affiliated AV Open Working Tests
Dummy-based format, no live game involved
Full field of 70 qualified dogs
Progressive cut to Grand Final

Today it blends its rich heritage with a working farm, farm shop and event spaces, making it the perfect setting for The British Retriever Trophy. There is plenty to enjoy for the whole family, so be sure to make the most of the facilities based at The Apley Farm Shop during your visit to the BRT.
